The variety belongs to the group of plants with a savoy (crinkled) leaf type. Leaves are large, dark green, and arranged semi-erect.

The plant possesses a long-standing property, due to which it bolts slower in warm weather compared to a number of other varieties. It possesses resistance to certain races of downy mildew.

Used both for sale on the fresh produce market and for industrial processing needs.
