The Marathon variety has large, dark green leaves of a blistered, wrinkled shape, which are positioned semi-erect. The plant is characterized as slow-bolting, which ensures resistance to the formation of flower stalks during the warm season.

This hybrid is suitable for cultivation when sown in late winter and spring. The produce of the variety is used both for sale on the fresh market and for industrial processing.
