Tigon RZ F1 belongs to the smooth-leaf spinach category. It forms uniform rounded leaves on an upright rosette, which allows for mechanical harvesting of the produce. The variety is intended for the baby leaf segment and is characterized by slow growth during the summer season and transitional periods.

The plant possesses complex resistance to downy mildew Peronospora effusa, including races Pe: 1–19, and has intermediate resistance to race 20. The variety also shows tolerance to fungal diseases of the genus Stemphylium, in particular Stemphylium vesicarium.
