The Aurea form is a deciduous tree, the main distinguishing feature of which is the presence of bright yellow young leaves. The plant is an old garden form, not a breeding variety in the agronomic sense.

This form is characterized by high winter hardiness and the ability to tolerate urban conditions, but it may suffer from drought. It is used exclusively in ornamental gardening in parks, gardens, and alley plantings.
