The Inkara variety originates from local ecotypes adapted to pre-Alpine climatic conditions. The plant is an annual winter legume, reaching a height of 75–80 cm and having large dark green leaves.
The flowering period of the variety falls in the second half of April — first half of May. The plant is characterized by resistance to lodging, low temperatures and diseases, as well as high seed productivity and crude protein content.
The variety is suitable for cultivation in pure stands or in mixtures with winter vetch or Italian ryegrass. Due to the lack of ability to strongly regrow after mowing, usually one full cut is obtained per season at the end of April or the beginning of May.
