The Julius variety is characterized as mid-early. It demonstrates high yield of both green mass and seeds, possessing good resistance to frost, powdery mildew, and crown rot diseases.
The plant is intended for fodder use in pure stands or in mixtures, including the Landsberg mixture and combinations with Italian ryegrass. For successful overwintering, sowing is recommended from late August to early September with a seeding rate of 20–30 kg/ha.
