Ladino represents a group of white clover varieties originating from the Lodi region in Italy. These plants are characterized by large leaf size and stem heights from 30 to 45 cm, which significantly exceeds the indicators of common white clover.

This variety type is used as a forage crop for pastures, hay, and silage, as well as in mixtures with tall grasses. The crop is valued for its high nutritional value, nitrogen-fixing ability, and good palatability for livestock, however, it requires a high level of soil fertility and moisture.

Due to the biological characteristics of Ladino, it is sensitive to drought because of its shallow root system. When grown in pure stands or in high concentration in grass mixtures, it can cause bloat in ruminants.
