The variety is used in agricultural practice and scientific experiments as a standard for comparing morphological characteristics, such as leaf size and shoot growth habit. In research, it serves as a baseline for productivity and as an object for studying nitrogen fixation and interaction with mycorrhizal fungi.

In agronomy, the variety is used in pasture and hay mixtures. It has also been used in experiments on intercropping with cereal crops to study its effect on weed suppression and the nitrogen nutrition level of the main crop.
