The Anika variety was bred by the Croatian company Agrigenetics d.o.o. and included in the national variety database of the Republic of Croatia. Breeding work on the variety continues the activities of Professor M. Bede, conducted at the Agricultural Institute in Osijek.
The plant has a parallel ear shape. The intensity of the waxy bloom on the plant organs is assessed as very weak. The variety belongs to the group of baking varieties, however, detailed agronomic characteristics, such as plant height, maturity dates, and disease resistance indicators, are not available in open sources.
