Triticum aestivum L. Bread wheat · Agricultural · bred by KWS UK LTD

Variety description

10 August 2026

Winter wheat variety Equinox is distinguished by a short and strong stem. This characteristic simplified the application of growth regulators during the cultivation process and allowed agronomists to vary the timing of treatments.

In scientific studies, the variety stood out as one of the shortest wheat specimens. The Equinox variety was used in breeding work for the development of the pedigrees of later British cereal varieties.
