The Yantar variety is a productive form of soft winter wheat with a relatively short stem. It was developed at the Dobrudzha Agricultural Institute in Bulgaria and gained recognition at the end of the 20th century.

The variety belongs to the bread-making type of wheat. In breeding practice, it has been widely used as a parent form for creating new varieties due to its productivity indicators and protein content.
