The Guinness variety was obtained as a result of the Sejet Planteforædling company breeding program. It is intended for cultivation in the temperate climate of Europe and is used as an independent variety or as part of high-yielding variety mixtures.
The plant has high yield potential with relative yield indices at the 103–111 level. The variety is characterized by strong immunity and high resistance to yellow rust.
