The variety belongs to the Soft Red Winter Wheat group. In the 1970s, it demonstrated competitive yield performance and was used in breeding to develop new varieties.
The grain of the variety was traditionally intended for the production of flour for confectionery products, such as cookies, cakes, and pastries. In the scientific literature of the 1980s, the variety was used as a model organism in the study of herbicide selectivity, specifically the metabolism of diclofop in plant tissues.
