The variety is characterized by a tall and stiff stem and the absence of modern Rht semi-dwarf genes. At the time of registration, the variety possessed high resistance to powdery mildew and yellow rust, as well as good resistance to Septoria nodorum and eyespot.
Subsequently, the variety became susceptible to yellow and brown rust, due to which it ceased to be recommended for use by the mid-1980s. The yield level of the variety was lower than that of some other varieties of that period, therefore it was considered suitable for conditions with minimal application of fungicides.
In modern conditions, the variety is used mainly as a historical sample in genetic research, in particular for studying wheat biodiversity and mapping resistance genes.
