The variety is the result of crossing the lines Inia F66, Soty, and Carazinho. It belongs to the group of high-yielding semi-dwarf varieties introduced during the 1960s–1970s, which allowed for increased yields due to lodging resistance.
In scientific literature, the variety is considered primarily as breeding material. One of the key characteristics is genetic resistance to rust, in particular, the presence of the Lr13 gene.
