Triticum aestivum L. Bread wheat · Agricultural · bred by Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center, Ohio State University

Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety was obtained as a result of crossing experimental lines TN 1434 and 1057F4-33, which have Lucas, Norin 10, and Brevor 2009 varieties in their genetic background. The origin of the variety is linked to a single head selection conducted in 1966, after which the line underwent testing under the designation TN 1640.

The plant belongs to the winter soft red wheat type. In terms of maturity, the variety is relatively late: heading occurs 3–4 days later than that of the Adena variety. The crop is intended for commercial cultivation and possesses improved tolerance to acidic soils compared to a number of other varieties of that period.
