The Tjelvar variety is a winter soft wheat bred in Sweden. The plant is characterized by the presence of the 1B/1R translocation, which is associated with increased yield and adaptability to stress factors, and also has improved straw strength compared to early varieties.

The variety possesses pronounced resistance to dwarf bunt (Tilletia controversa / Tilletia caries) and is often used in scientific research as an object for studying genetic resistance to powdery mildew. It is positioned as a variety used in breeding programs.
