Tobak is a short-stemmed variety of the intensive development type; plant height is 75–79 cm. The variety is characterized as mid-season or mid-late with high compensatory ability and intensive tillering.
Potential yield reaches 11.0–12.0 t/ha. The grain has a thousand kernel weight of about 42–43 g and a protein content from 11.5% to 13.5%, which corresponds to the German quality class B.
The variety possesses high resistance to snow mold, powdery mildew, Fusarium head blight, and common bunt, with moderate resistance to Septoria and root rots. It is intended for food purposes and bread making.
