The variety is an object for the analysis of gliadin allelic variants, in particular the Gli-B1 locus. In some classifications, it is referred to as mid-season, however, detailed agronomic characteristics, such as plant height, disease resistance, or baking properties, are absent.

In modern agronomy, the variety is used mainly as genetic material for research purposes, rather than as a mass production crop.
