Variety description

10 August 2026

In the USA, the variety is classified as hard red spring wheat, obtained by crossing Manital and Linea 119 lines. The plant is of the semi-dwarf type, is awnless, and does not require vernalization. The variety has resistance to lodging, moderate resistance to stripe rust, however it is susceptible to Septoria leaf blotch and moderately susceptible to barley yellow dwarf virus. It is intended for bread-making production.

In Italy, the Vaiolet variety is classified as common wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and is used in the production of bakery products. The existence of a variety with the same name in different categories indicates the presence of different breeding lines or regional differences in classification.
