Variety description

10 August 2026

UI Warrior is a soft white spring wheat characterized by high yield potential, resistance to yellow rust, and high grain quality indicators.

The British variety Warrior, marketed between 2010–2012, belonged to group 3 according to the quality classification. It possessed resistance to orange wheat blossom midge and had a short white spike with awnletted appendages.

The historic winter wheat variety Warrior, registered in the USA in 1960, is currently mentioned primarily in genetic research. The name has also become eponymous for a group of yellow rust pathogen races, which creates difficulties in identifying the variety in modern literature.
