The variety is late-maturing with a vegetation period of about 140 days. It is characterized by a tall stem and spindle-shaped ears about 10 cm long, having a square cross-section and awns with a black base and a yellow-reddish tip.
The grain has a dark brown color, a translucent structure, and an elliptical shape with a length of up to 7 mm and a groove of medium depth. The variety is recognized as suitable for organic farming and low-input systems, being considered a valuable genetic resource of local crops.
