The Bonadur variety is a historical and archival variety for Austrian breeding programs. In the literature of that period, it was referred to as a standard variety for conducting research, in particular when evaluating disease susceptibility.

Scientific publications noted the variety's susceptibility to Fusarium head blight, which was typical for durum wheat of that time, and also provided data on the study of Septoria. In modern seed catalogs, this variety is not present as a current offering.
