The Bolido variety is adapted to the climatic conditions of the Mediterranean region. During salinity tolerance studies, the variety proved to be one of the least sensitive to salinity, although a reduction in plant height was observed under environmental stress conditions.

The grain of the variety possesses characteristics typical for durum wheat intended for pasta production, including requirements for vitreousness and protein content. The variety is actively used in genetic collections and research aimed at mapping resistance to diseases, such as rust.
