The Bolenga variety is not a commercial variety with a detailed description of morphological traits, but serves as a valuable genotype. In studies, it has demonstrated high grain yield potential, yet is characterized by low thousand kernel weight values and instability of this trait.

Under experimental conditions, the variety showed high sensitivity to soil salinity and vulnerability to water stress at the initial stages of development. The variety was selected from the global ICARDA panel and is used in breeding programs for trait mapping and grain quality improvement.
