The variety was obtained as a result of crossing Duilio and Grazia varieties. In grain and flour quality studies, the variety is characterized by an analysis of biochemical properties, including carotenoid content and enzyme activity, in particular lipoxygenase.

The variety lacks Pina and Pinb genes (puroindolines), which corresponds to the hard grain texture characteristic of durum wheat.
