The variety has a good capacity for early sowing due to cold tolerance and earliness. The plant contains the semi-dwarf allele Rht-B1b, which provides genetic resistance to lodging. The variety is intended for cultivation in temperate climate conditions and is well-adapted to humid environments and irrigated plots.

The variety is characterized by good tolerance to powdery mildew and spotting, but is susceptible to leaf rust and Fusarium head blight, which is why it is often used as a background sample in resistance testing. The grain is distinguished by a high content of protein and yellow pigments, as well as good tolerance to vitreousness.

Due to the high stability of its characteristics, Karur is widely used in scientific research as a recurrent parent for the development of new breeding lines.
