The variety was created at the Cereal Institute in Thessaloniki and released in the early 1980s. It was used in scientific research to analyze genetic diversity and protein composition, including gliadins and glutenins.

The variety was intended for use in the food industry, in particular for the production of pasta. Detailed morphological characteristics, such as plant height or specific indicators of disease resistance, are not disclosed in publications.
