The variety is a winter form of wheat. High protein content is noted in the grain, reaching 15.9–16.5% in studies. The variety serves as a valuable raw material for pasta production.

Genetically, the variety is characterized by specific alleles of the Glu-A1 and Glu-B1 loci. "Pandur" is actively used in breeding work as a parental form for developing new varieties and creating synthetic wheat lines, including crossing with Aegilops tauschii.
