The variety is also known by the names Paura rossa and Cicirello rosso. It belongs to late-maturing plants with a growing season from sowing to maturity of about 140 days.

Plants of this variety are tall and reach a height of 125–130 cm including the ear. In modern studies, the variety is considered as an object for studying the genetic diversity of local crops.
