The variety was obtained as a result of crossing lines INRA 92-1 and D81028. It is intended for pasta production and possesses specific semolina quality indicators, in particular, it demonstrates one of the lowest browning index values among the studied samples.

In agronomic studies, the variety was examined for resistance to a number of pathogens, including wheat streak mosaic virus and various types of rust. Parsifal is also used in scientific work for the analysis of the accumulation of heavy metals, such as cadmium, in the grain, roots, and shoots of plants.
