The variety is a Triticum turgidum subsp. turanicum, also known as Khorasan wheat or oriental wheat. This species is tetraploid (2n=28) and is genetically close to durum wheat.

Agrotechnical studies of the variety were conducted to examine the impact of seeding rates, nutrient backgrounds, and plant protection products on yield and grain quality. It has been established that this crop is adapted to hot and dry climatic conditions.
