Canyon tulip belongs to the class of double late tulips. Its flowers have a peony-like shape and are characterized by a rich purple-red or dark burgundy color, which takes on an almost black hue in partial shade. The height of the plant varies from 35 to 50 cm, and the flower diameter is 5–10 cm.

The variety is intended for late flowering in the period of April–May, which allows avoiding bud damage by spring frosts. The plant possesses high winter hardiness, is resistant to diseases, and is suitable for cutting, maintaining a decorative appearance for up to 10 days. It is used for landscaping gardens and creating floral compositions.
