The Crown of Negrita tulip has large dark purple flowers with wavy petals that form a "crown". The plant height is 40–50 cm, foliage is green and decorative. Some sources describe the buds as double, resembling peonies.

The variety belongs to the early-flowering group, with the flowering period falling in April-May. The plant is resistant to spring frosts, has good frost hardiness, and high resistance to tulip breaking virus. Suitable for cutting, landscape design, and container cultivation, however, data on suitability for forcing is contradictory.
