The variety belongs to the double late tulip group. The fully double flower reaches 7–8 cm in diameter when fully open and resembles a peony. The petal coloration is contrasting: the base red color is complemented by a wide yellow or orange-yellow margin along the edges.

The plant height varies from 35 to 60 cm; the peduncles are strong and capable of supporting heavy buds. Flowering occurs in April–May and lasts up to three weeks. The variety is suitable for cutting, container cultivation, use in landscape design, as well as for forcing.
