The San Clemente tulip variety belongs to the group of fringed tulips. The flowers have a goblet shape with characteristic needle-like fringe along the petal edges. The color is uniform, a rich purple.
The plant height ranges from 35 to 60 cm, and the bud diameter is 8–12 cm. The variety is mid-season flowering; the flowering period occurs in April-May. The plant is suitable for forcing, possesses a strong stem resistant to rain, and high resistance to tulip breaking virus.
