Variety description

The clone was obtained from seeds of a tree growing in the El Retiro park in Madrid. Genetically, it is an almost pure species of Ulmus minor, accounting for approximately 98.7%.

The variety is officially registered as resistant to the fungus Ophiostoma novo-ulmi, the causal agent of Dutch elm disease. Resistance was confirmed during tests using artificial inoculation with the pathogen.
