The Ama plant grows densely and bushy, reaching a height and width of 100–150 cm. The variety is characterized by high frost resistance, disease resistance, and low maintenance requirements, making it suitable for beginner gardeners.
Fruiting begins in late July and lasts for about six weeks. The berries are large, round, dark blue in color with a waxy bloom and dark flesh, possessing an aromatic-sweet taste with refreshing acidity.
The plant is decorative: in summer, the foliage is dark green and glossy, in autumn it turns orange-yellow, and in May–June the bush blooms with light pink bell-shaped flowers. It is used as a fruit crop and for decorative purposes, including in heather gardens, as a specimen plant, or for container cultivation.
