Ridley 1403
ActiveVaccinium L. · Bilberry
RIDLEY WILLIAM BELL
10 August 2026
The bush is upright, reaches a height of 1.2–1.8 m, and is distinguished by good branching and strong vertical shoots. In spring, the plant blooms with white-pink flowers; in autumn, the foliage turns red-burgundy shades.
Berry ripening begins in mid-July. The fruits are large, 1.7–2 cm in diameter, slightly flattened in shape, with firm flesh and a waxy bloom. The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness and resistance to Phytophthora and root rot.
The variety is self-pollinating; however, cross-pollination is recommended to increase yield stability. The berries are suitable for fresh consumption and processing, as well as for mechanized harvesting.
