Volhart 3 is an annual herbaceous plant forming a full-hearted rosette of elongated leaves. The plant height can reach 20 cm. The variety is purebred and is not an F1 hybrid.

The plant is intended for producing greens during cold months. In open field, seeds are sown from July to September, in greenhouses — in October or November. Harvesting is carried out in the period from October to February or March. The variety is characterized by high frost resistance and contains vitamins A and C.
