The variety belongs to small-seeded faba beans. Its breeding was aimed at improving the nutritional value of the produce by minimizing the levels of glucosides such as vicine and convicine.

The plant is early-flowering. Due to the small seed size, the variety is used as feed for poultry and appears in scientific reviews of European legume breeding as a specialized crop.
