The variety is a winter form of faba bean with white flowers. The absence of tannins in the grain improves protein and energy digestibility, making it an efficient feed resource for monogastric animals, such as pigs and poultry.

Due to its winter hardiness, the variety is often used as a reference sample in scientific studies aimed at assessing the resistance of winter legume crops to low temperatures.
