The variety is characterized by a determinant growth type, in which the stem has limited height and terminates in an inflorescence, which promotes uniform plant ripening. The seeds belong to a group with a higher tannin content compared to white-flowered low-tannin varieties.

The main purpose of the variety is for use as a valuable high-protein component in feed for farm animals, including poultry and cattle. Like other faba beans, the variety is susceptible to fungal diseases such as Botrytis fabae, Botrytis cinerea, Ascochyta fabae and species of the genus Fusarium.
