The variety is characterized by narrow, glabrous stems and purple flowers. The seeds have a gray-green color with a marbled pattern in the form of gray or brown markings.

From an agronomic perspective, the variety has shown intermediate winter hardiness, surpassing a number of local populations in this indicator. The variety is also used as a model object in biochemical plant research and serves as a standard in international classifiers when describing seed traits.
