Variety description

The variety is a natural seedling discovered in the Ardèche department in the early 1970s. Genetic analysis confirmed its origin from an intraspecific cross between Grenache and Aubun.
The plant is characterized by vigorous growth and a tendency to form suckers. Clusters are medium-sized and conical in shape; berries are black-blue with medium to low yield. The variety has low susceptibility to powdery mildew and gray mold, but is sensitive to esca and has poor drought tolerance.
Wine grape variety requiring short pruning and the use of a trellis. The variety is included in the official French catalog but has very limited distribution.
