The variety is the result of crossing the varieties Gewürztraminer and Veltliner red white. Technical maturity of the berries occurs at the end of September. The vines have medium vigor, lateral shoot formation is insignificant, and the vine cane matures well.

The flower is hermaphroditic. The bunches are conical-cylindrical, often winged, weighing 180–250 g. The berries are rounded, white-green in color with a heavy bloom, weighing 1.5–2 g, with juicy pulp possessing a distinct spicy-muscat flavor.

The variety has sufficient resistance to downy mildew and powdery mildew, however, it requires preventive treatment against gray mold. It is characterized by good winter hardiness down to –24°C, while drought tolerance is assessed as low.

Wines from the Devín variety are distinguished by intense aromatics with notes of rose, honey, exotic spices, citrus, and ripe fruits. The variety is suitable for creating a wide range of wines, including full-bodied dessert wines.
