The plant forms a dense rounded crown with arching branches, reaching 1.2–1.5 m in height and width. The foliage has a dark green shade and a glossy surface, and the flowers are characterized by a distinct lip-red color.
The variety is remontant: abundant flowering begins in late spring and continues in waves until frost without the need for deadheading. The shrub adapts to various soil types provided there is drainage and is recommended for USDA hardiness zones 4 to 8.
The plant is used in landscape design as a specimen plant or for creating hedges, attracting hummingbirds and pollinating insects. The variety shows resistance to diseases and pests.
