The variety is a densely branched shrub with an upright or slightly spreading growth habit. Leaves are narrow, elliptical, dark green, while young spring leaves may have a brownish tint. The plant reaches a height of 40–60 cm, in some cases up to 1 m.
Flowers are bell-shaped, pink in color. The main flowering lasts 3–4 weeks starting from mid-May; a repeat wave of flowering is possible in September–October. The variety is winter-hardy, withstanding temperature drops down to -25...-29 °C (USDA zone 5).
Prefers sunny locations or partial shade and moist, well-drained fertile soils. To maintain shape and stimulate shoot formation, pruning is recommended after the main flowering period in June.
