The plant possesses a compact, rounded habit, reaching 40–60 cm in height and 60–80 cm in width. The shoots are sturdy, arching, and not prone to spreading. The glossy leaves have a dark brown, almost purple-black coloration, which is maintained throughout the entire growing season.
The bell-shaped flowers are colored dark red and complemented by white stamens. The variety is capable of re-blooming: the first wave occurs in mid-spring, the second in late summer or early autumn. The plant is characterized as winter-hardy (USDA zones 4–8) and requires minimal maintenance.
