The shrub forms a dense hemispherical or rounded crown 0.5 to 1 meter in height. Elliptical leaves on young shoots have a reddish hue, which changes with age to dark green with a purple-brown cast. Funnel-shaped flowers are colored in rich tones of ruby-pink or dark pink.
The plant blooms in May-June; repeat flowering is sometimes observed in late summer or early autumn. The variety prefers sunny areas or light partial shade and moderately moist fertile soils. It possesses high resistance to urban conditions and withstands significant temperature drops.
Due to its compact size, the variety is widely used in landscape design. It is used for decorating the foreground of borders, creating low hedges, and cultivation in rock gardens and containers.
